This is where you place your concerns.
When taxes surpluses are at a certain point I would purpose a rebate, or a freeze on any increases.
An option is to have local residence and local businesses have an account with the County for tracking transactions for accountability then at the end of the year have tax breaks (this would be in a very structured matrix), even a few percent on large transactions would go a long way. This is just a thought.
Affordability starts with protecting families from rising costs. If elected I plan to keep municipal taxes tied to inflation and cut unnecessary red tape, so residents aren’t paying more than they should. Instead of high-density towers, I’ll support practical housing options that fit Strathcona’s character — like secondary suites, seniors’ housing, and attainable family homes. By partnering with builders, non-profits, and higher levels of government, I believe we can expand housing choice, ease cost pressures, and ensure Strathcona remains an affordable, family-friendly community.
Over the next four years in Ward 8, I will focus on smarter infrastructure, livability, and responsible growth. Our roads, sidewalks, and trails need timely upgrades, and I’ll ensure these projects are prioritized to keep neighbourhoods safe and connected. I’ll support the Senior Centre revitalization, building on County planning work so it truly meets the needs of our aging residents. On housing, I’ll push for affordability through red-tape reduction, encouraging options like secondary suites and seniors’ housing — while protecting our ward from high-density development that doesn’t fit our character. Finally, I will champion fiscal responsibility, holding budgets to account so Ward 8 receives its fair share of investments. These steps ideally keeping our community affordable, connected, and family-friendly.
Strathcona County residents deserve reliability and value. A budget that will deliver both: high-quality services, careful long-term planning. Every dollar is focused on what matters—roads, recreation, safety, and responsible investment for future growth. If elected I will work hard to actively listen to public feedback, balance affordability with excellence and keep Strathcona County strong, prosperous, and thriving for every resident and business.
By 2029, my goal is to make Strathcona County more affordable, connected, and resilient under my leadership. Families seeing taxes held in check to the best of my ability, tied to inflation, with budgets focused on delivering value instead of bureaucracy. Our roads, sidewalks, and trails ideally being safer and better maintained, and seniors having a revitalized centre that truly meets their needs. Housing being more attainable thanks to practical, community-fit options like secondary suites and seniors’ housing — not high-density developments that compromise our character. My goal is to have stronger fiscal discipline, with transparent reporting and long-term planning ensuring every dollar counts.
